Week 8 = two months. It just occurred to me(duh) that it's been two months since we started this project. Granted it's not finished yet but as everyone involved has mentioned it is all coming together nicely and it's sounding awesome. We should be making all the tracks easier to access and listen to shortly.
Stay tuned (in case you haven't noticed, I'm stalling for a bit more time, not much longer, just a bit). :)
On to the next stage. This weekend will be used to tie up loose ends. On Monday we should be set to listen to some of the results. I'm hyped. As curious as I was over the last 6 weeks, I haven't listened to any of the tracks yet. I have a good feeling.
It may take a week or two before the whole package is ready. Things like track order, normalization of volume for all tracks, album artwork and liner notes are on the to-do list.
We are looking good-to-go to be complete in June sometime. : )
We're in the last week of six.
I've gotten a lot of emails back this week with updates from everyone. Most have told me they're almost done and are tweaking things. Things are really looking good. Next week we'll get to hear how things are sounding.
I sent all the Project 1 participants an email today with a few ideas on what will happen next. At the end of this coming week, I'm hoping the next step will be semi-private listening. To get feedback from others outside of the two-person collaborations. This is a step that normally doesn't happen at ccMixter so it will be interesting for me at least to see how this goes.
We're almost there. : )
Week 5. Less than 2 weeks left. It's getting to be about the time when panic kicks in. If the rest of the Mixters are anything like me. The last few days will prove to be the most productive.
Take me for example, today I took a t-shirt image from Openclipart and cut/paste a ccMixter logo I saw at Funkyremixes on it. Now that's productive. What? I've still got two weeks. ; )
Week 4. I emailed everybody yesterday to give me updates on how they're progressing. For the most part it seems everybody is progressing on schedule.
Some folks have had to deal with some real hardship. Some are so busy with real life yet are willing to spend their time on this. I won't post any of the details here but hearing back from them really made me reflect on how amazing it is to be working with such great people. It's so amazingly inspiring to know that all of these people make such an effort for the love of making music.
It really made think of how ccMixter is such a special place. I feel so lucky sometimes that such a place exists and so many great people take the time to contribute.
I guess this isn't much of an update. In fact it all sounds a bit mushy. But whatever, who cares , it's been a real feel good moment for me. : )

3 weeks past. 3 left. All teams are half-way done with their collaborations (at least that's what I'm telling myself to keep from worrying too much).
DJLang has told me that Duckett is having some computer issues and may have to pull out but I hope Duckett gets it sorted. Duckett, DJLang and 21 Pele are working as a threesome. Fingers crossed.
Phusion and Plurgid are asking for some feedback and help on their collab on ccM Forums. I really like what I've heard so far. If you think you can help them get "really hotted up", send them a message.
_ghost and Narva 9, I'm told by Narva 9, are moving along, bouncing ideas back and forth. Things are starting to look solid.
I haven't heard from any of the other teams so I have to assume they're doing awesome. : )

Hepepe had to pull out this week which is unfortunate. But luckily Etherdust was able to get in touch with Gurdonark(thanks G) so everything worked out fine. In fact Etherdust has asked if he can put together two tracks representing the Future: Utopia/Distopia theme (the theme is optional). Excellent.
My collaboration with Geoff is moving along. I've put up an instrumental on our collaboration page for him to add some vocals to. I looking forward to hearing back from him. After putting some vocals on the track I'm hoping Geoff and I can invite others to the collaboration. Maybe some guitar, key, sax, turntables or some female vocals. I love all the possibilities.

Project 1 got started last week with 21 people working on 10 different collaborations. Everyone was given a partner and a Collab page at ccMixter.
My partner for this collab is Geoff Williams aka G.Wills, a rapper, part of the Dirty Water Crew. I got a phone call from Geoff and DJ Lang on Monday. It was pretty exciting. We talked a little bit. It was all business. ; )
My plan for the collab is to start with one of the existing raps from J Lang and Geoff. I picked Still Hustling(a mixter fav). And then come up with some loops and ideas to send to Geoff for him to rap to.
Things aren't going so well though. I've been having trouble hearing this week due to sinus and head congestion. Damn allergies. Hopefully my ears will pop soon and I can get some loops going.
I'm not sure how the other collaboration groups are doing. I've asked for emails if anyone is having any problems and I haven't got any emails yet so I assume everything is great. : )

I am trying to set up a group project at ccMixter. I've started by posting a thread in the ccMixter Forums. Needless to say I would love everyone to participate and would like as much help as I can get getting the word out to everyone in a relatively short time. If you have any ideas, I would love to hear from you. Please post them in the thread posted above.
