She's Got the Look

I saw this today in the forums from Loveshadow.

This is just a little announcement that a remix i did of Calendar Girl has been used commercially for a fashion house in Vienna.

The site looks great as does their current 2008 collection. Its very cool to be selected and proves that the world is watching and listening to sites like CC Mixter and rethinking their commercial approach.

It also shows that collorabation thru CC Mixter can lead to greater things and Calendar Girl & myself would like to thank the Kalchmann group for supporting our online efforts.

Go take a look if you get a chance

kalchmann

That is so awesome. Congratulations Loveshadow and Calendargirl. What a great use of this track. It fits perfectly. : )

Calendar Girl Interview on CBC Spark

Spark is heard every Wednesday at 11:30 am across Canada on CBC Radio One.

Tune-in to the upcoming show on February 6th (or catch it as a podcast). It's the Collaboration Show, a show created through audience participation using wiki. Pretty neat, huh?

It will be featuring an interview with Calendar Girl talking about her CalendarSongs project. Pretty neater, huh?

Wait. There's more. It will even have a cameo by Gurdonark. (the guy to thank for setting up this interview for us to listen to)

Don't miss it.

And as always, thanks to the super-cool folks at Spark for the plugs. : )

Calendar Girl Live in London #2

From Calendar Songs:

Remember the CSongs gig-let at the Creative Commons salon last year? That amazing Buster Keaton/IMT 'May' video? Here's more footage from that night, of me singing the wonderful and amazing Ditto-Ditto's take on 'April'. WorkNotPlay are back to mix the live take up with a short film starring Jade Keane and Lauren Holden that was shot in London's Kentish last year. An excellent, story-driven and mysterious vid!

Video by WorkNotPlay. Remix by ditto ditto.

December Loves Calendar(girl)

Dorothy Lake

I notice that Calendar Girl has posted her tracklisting for her Calendar Songs project, which includes many of our mixter friends. Congratulations to Calendar Girl and each of the artists who transformed her work. This project was great fun--and showed once again the power and potential of creative commons sharing. Here's the track list, from Calendarsongs, which is worth a visit for the cool Wonder Woman photo and the liner notes about track selection and the forthcoming final result.

The songs are:

October 'Playtime' mix by eskimo-esque
November 'Dream Pop' mix by Bento Box
December 'Crystal Cuckoo' mix by A-Line
January 'Stalactite' mix by Max Plank
February 'Mumblemix' by Incoherent Mumble Train
March 'Secret Smile' mix by Darkroom
April 'Drive' mix by Old Dog
May 'The Fire' mix by Loveshadow
June 'À la Parisienne' mix by Ditto-Ditto
July 'Spit Shine Boy' mix by Duckett
August 'Ever Color' mix by sleeperspaceborn
September 'When You Said Yes' mix by IFR

A great project, well done.

CalendarSongs Live

From CalendarSongs.com

As I knew I was going to be in New York this October visiting family and friends I thought I could put a little live show together with some of the remixers I knew to be 'local to the scene', Incoherent Mumble Train and eskimo-esque. So we are going to perform some of their remixes live, on this Sunday the 21st at the wonderful Pianos on Ludlow Street at Stanton, onstage at 10pm. We are also going to be joined by my spectacular friend Bec Stupak who will be projecting video to synch to the music. Please join us if you can, and if you can't, hopefully we will meet at another CSongs gig one of these days. Lots of love from CGirlx

P.S. This very nice poster is made by eskimo-esque x

Calendar Girl Live!

A video by WorkNotPlay/Csongs. Thanks to Calendar Girl for emailing me this video of a live performance of a remix by Incoherent Mumble Train at CC Salon London. This was so amazing I was applauding at the end. I wish I was there. : )

p.s. - Ooops, almost forgot. CG has her August song up. Don't forget, her next song (the last one) is on September 30th.
