Surviving Spiders and Creepy Crawlers at ccMixter

Looking for free music? Lots of folks are, and some spiders too.

Spiderbots that is, also known as webcrawlers. They crawl and scour the internet looking for any and all information that may be useful for good or bad intentions.

Because ccMixter provides music free to share, download and remix, we are out in the open and wild frontier of the internet.  

Free music can be a juicy meal for spiderbots.  Free comes at a cost, however.  Cost in time, bandwidth, overages, and programming updates. 

That's why we rely on contributions like yours to create a vibrant, sustainable source of music that can be used and shared under open licenses. ccMixter helps nourish creators, and we're trying to avoid an onslaught of expensive, poisonous spider bites.
