thanks to both of you! my pleasure. and i too love that little yahoo media player. check out the simple archive blog page i created:
http://ccmixtercoolmusic.blogspot.com
easy to update each week with the new cc playlist, and people can comment if they want to. and easy to share within social networking sites. playlists are the future of ccmixter, at least in terms of viral marketing opportunities for the artists i think, and i'm hoping to lead by example here. every friday i'll be spinning the latest!
and i'd still love a little feature for it on the site VS ;)

Yup, you'll get your own page and linked on the 'Find Music' page - and probably other places, probably home page for a while. But I want at least 3 weeks into it.
you know, I noticed that you're using the playlist page for the flash control as the URL. You're sort of lucky to get away with that because few pages on the site actually link directly to mp3s - and that page won't forever, it's a bit of fluke that it does. The feed url is the way to go.
vs, why not link directly to mp3s? At least that way people with the greasemonkey, bookmarklet, or foxytunes version of the javascript player could inject it.
about the flash player, credit goes to william white for driving that through and doing a really nice job on it. I especially love the way it changes the layout depending on how much space the containing element has.
@teru: right, you need query api 2 to make it work (and there's a bug with dynamic playlists that I'll fix today)
@lucas: You can get direct links with user interaction/scripts (follow the 'download' link) for most pages and I'll be installing one of those on the playlist pages at some point. But we were going down once a week because of roving bots that would dl all our music all the time. If we had a real hi perf 'media' server that did nothing else but serve up the audio files then I never would have bothered with this scheme.

Feed doesn't seem to read correctly. I tried using the feed url,
http://ccmixter.org/api/query?f=rss&playlist=1614
It works on the Easylister Code Creator page but it plays the most recent mixes for some reason not the playlist when posted to Blogger. :(

teru, it might be an escaping problem.
if you're doing it with a link in the page, this syntax will work:
<a href="http://ccmixter.org/api/query?f=rss&playlist=1614" class="playthispage">the playlist</a>
Thanks Lucas. : )
Victor - works fine if I use the code generator on the dev site. : )

very cool playlist!
Just a small thing: I don't seem to see the remixer's name in the display of the player. Am I just missing that?
Thanks Spin. Should work now.
FYI, I used -
http://ccmixter.org/playlist/browse/1614&f+rss
still not sure if the remixer name is being displayed in the yahoo player when the song title is long.
