Jazz-On-Line

Jazz-On-Line. According to the site, "all tunes are in the Public Domain" (bottom of the home page).

Requires Real Player. Lots and lots of Jazz MP3s. 16,206 to be exact. There's even a playlist page. Really wicked.

Yeah. I'm thinking if these are PD why aren't there thousands of sites like this?

Oh well I guess I'll have to listen to a few more tunes. For research. : )

I'd love to sample Stan Getz, but I'm a little skeptical. It's true that in the old days, a goodish few folks messed up on copyright notices under an earlier statute, thus putting, in particular, some grade Z films into the PD. But jazz from the 50s? I don't know about that :). I guess I'm going to have to stick to mutopiaproject.org and classical pieces from an earlier century!
