ccMixter promotional compilation CDs

In trying to think of a way to get ccMixter more of a listener base and promotion for everyone on the site I posted this thread.

http://ccmixter.org/media/thread/623

What I propose is genre based committees...for example I would like to work on Hiphop, DNB, Downtempo, and spoken word/experimental ccMixter compilation albums.

If anyone has ever obtained a Scion Mix CD at shows...they are free and have some really good talent on them. Free promotional CDs that are handed out at shows, ccSalons, clubs, concerts, etc would be a great way to get promotion going for everyone.

The albums could also be downloadable with liner notes and artowork similar to what the Nerdcore artists are doing...

Is anyone else interested in getting together on this?

What I need help with...

Producers willing to produce full mixes of the genre based compilation albums...

other genres...

Jazz, Classical, Aternative, Ambient, Fusion...any others? other ideas?

People to produce the liner notes and artwork...

Could/Should there be a developed standard form/format for crediting all the sampled artists, all those who produced full length tracks included on the compilation mix CD, and then the producer(s) who did the final mix of all the tracks together?

If anyone is interested in discussing this further post here or send me an email

It is not hard to guess which genre I would prefer to see, but I actually would be willing to work on anything on this, from writing to promoting to creating music to virtually anything.

So count me in.

Oh btw, I plan on doing all the mixing and track marking of the CD in powerpoint whereas each slide will be a track marker and the transitions will help it become more of a mix CD. ;) Happy 4th of July.

yeah I feel you on that...I think you have several mixes along with Jerry Rosier and Miximm that would be good...I need more input in the genre threads!

btw where would be the best place to post a photoshop CD insert template for Mixers interested in doing cover art? I've got a basic template together.
