Remixing our friends and remembering their names

Victor's latest "doobie" mix, coupled with his recent post about remixing the "Remember the Name" new kids, got me thinking--perhaps it is possible to take the cool stuff being posted and use it for things as far removed from "Remember the Name" as possible. It's not that I dislike the Fort Minor piece, it's just that I have heard it a time or two lately, which brings out the same emotion I had in 1978 about the brothers Gibb.

I had a lot of fun making a mangle of four versions of "Remember the Name", and the result
would fit very well if our board were only called ccmerzbow, but which I'll save for another rainy day.

But then I hit upon the idea for my current remix, a meditation on the sacred and the sensual--
and I realized it is a cool challenge--can we remix the new friends without sounding anything like "Remember the Name"? I'm one of the least of the mixters, and I think I can do it.
I'll be eager to hear what y'all real mixters can do.

Well we have until May 6th. That's a lot of time in Mixter years. ; )
